Why The Premier League Is The Best League.
The sport of football, or soccer, has its roots in late eighteenth century England so it stands to reason that the English Premiere League would be the best league in the world. But his has not always been the case. Despite winning the world cup in 1966, English football has always flattered to deceive and the state of the domestic league slumped by the end of the 1980′s.
With the huge injection of media money at the birth of the Premiere League at the start of the 1992/93 season, the rise of the Premiere League has been unstoppable. Massive television coverage and unprecedented marketing turned the games into must see viewing and as the audiences and attendances grew, so did the revenue.
This led to an influx of overseas stars cramming the league full of quality and bankable players. The standard of the play increased, and as the wages of players rose, so did their profile. Football icons and superstars littered every team and worldwide audiences blossomed.
Now even more money flows in as multi-millionaires from around the globe buy up clubs to have a stake in the world’s greatest league, where every week the best players in the world do battle.
